a dirty, dusty holiday...

We spent our Fourth of July weekend at a local campground with some friends and had a great time. We're in a serious drought in California right now so the camp was super dusty and dry and the kids were completely covered in dirt from the moment we got out of the car - but they loved it.

We were feeling pretty patriotic.

Every time we visited the bathroom, there was a new rice cooker plugged in, cooking away...

Filthy s'mores hands!

So yummy!

Zonked out.

We left the roof-covering off of our tent while we slept and woke up to this view in the morning.

Just filthy.

Making tons of bacon and eggs for breakfast.

Scarlett preferred marshmallows to our traditional breakfast. Of course.

All in all it was a super fun trip. Hopefully next time there will be more green grass and less dusty dirt  - but I figure the kids will still find a way to get filthy no matter what.

love & cupcakes,
elissa
