on going unnoticed...

I've been a stay at home mom since 2012 and one thing that I'm just now starting to come to terms with is the fact that if you're doing your job as a SAHM well, no one will notice.  The piles of dirty laundry seem to magically wash, fold and put themselves away, the dirty dishes from each meal cease to exist and the million little tasks and errands you complete each day go completely unnoticed - unless you don't get them done, of course.

I don't mean for that to sound like a complaint. It's not. It's just that in the working world, you [hopefully!] are recognized for doing your job and doing it well. Your coworkers are there to cheer you on and maybe have a cocktail with you during happy hour. You get raises and vacations where you don't have to do your job and can instead relax and come back refreshed.

As a SAHM, your "coworker" is probably your spouse who is away at work most days and dealing with their own to-do lists and daily annoyances and your "boss" is probably a tiny adorable tyrant who pays you in kisses and makes vacations even more work than just staying home.

And even though you spend your days doing the same tasks over and over again, it's still better and more fulfilling than any desk job you've ever had. Because even if the monotony goes unnoticed, it's important. More important than you even know.

love & cupcakes,

disneyland awesomeness...

Disneyland has become so much more fun now that Scarlett is almost four. She has so many opinions and things she wants to do all on her own - it's a blast! We went to Disneyland the week of Halloween and I think it may need to become a family tradition. We went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and brought home a TON of candy - we had to give most of it away! There was no way we could eat it all without making ourselves completely sick - and gaining about twenty pounds each! But we're definitely going agin next year!

This was just before Scarlett went on Big Thunder mountain Railroad for the very first time...

And this was right after! She loved it!

My very first Dole Whip float ever - so yummy!

Such an insane amount of candy...

I can't wait to go back!
