267 and counting...

I'm officially over 267 miles so far on my 500 miles in 2014 challenge! I'm hoping to do a lot of walking during our upcoming family vacation - hikes, strolling through town, shopping - all the fun stuff.

Scarlett and I did a quick walk back from Starbucks the other day and ended up taking a ton of pictures of our feet. I may need to do a "From Where I Stand" feature regularly!

love & cupcakes,

I love when the sky gets all crazy looking....

Happy Friday! I feel like it's been quite a while since I've done one of these "currently" posts. I need to get back on my blogging game! Here's what I'm currently up to....

Reading - I finally finished Divergent and am now a few chapters into Insurgent. I'm liking it so far. I'll probably be able to knock most of it out this week while we're having relaxing family time.

Watching - Since we finished Sherlock I've been at a loss as to what I should watch next. Nick has been putting on Louie at bedtime lately and it's pretty funny. I also started watching Royal Pains on Netflix the other day and I'm enjoying it. It's kind of cheesy, but I like that sort of thing.

Anticipating - Family vacation! It's coming!!! I can't wait to head up into the mountains and just relax. We'll be mostly unplugged while we're vacationing - we're going to try to limit ourselves to 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening - just enough time to check our email, do a quick scroll through Facebook and generally not allow ourselves to feel completely cut off. It's a process. It will be so nice to just relax and hang out together - putting the house on the market and dealing with semi-packing and showing the house and cleaning up have really been taking its toll on us. We need a break.

Listening To - I cannot stop playing "Fancy" by Iggy Azalea. And I'm far too old for that sort of thing.

Eating - I'm back on my Baked Lays kick. They're just so freaking yummy!

Working On - Getting me and Nick back to being "Nick & Elissa" instead of just Mommy and Daddy and stressed out homeowners. More date nights, less time apart.

Wishing - For someone to just come along already and BUY OUR HOUSE!! I want to be closer to the Bay like crazy! Blargh!

I hope you have an amazing Memorial Day weekend! Do something fun!

love & cupcakes,

Scarlett got a new bathing suit and is the sassiest little thing I ever saw....

My brother HATES her suit since it shows her belly, but I think it's adorable! And she loves it.

growing up...

Scarlett and I had a little shopping time together last week and all of a sudden it hit me - she's totally growing up! She's getting to be such a little kid. The toddler is basically gone.

Note - That huge coffee was for my mom, not Scarlett!

Where did my baby girl go???

mall daze...

Since our house is on the market, there are often times during the weekend where we need to vacate as soon as possible so people can come and see the place. We went to the mall this last weekend to hide out during a few showings and Scarlett had a blast. she got to ride on the merry go round,  found some interesting things and made a few new scaly friends.

Hopefully the house will sell soon so we can start the official moving process instead of having to run out the door every weekend!

love & cupcakes,

super duper date night!

Nick and I got to have a date night the other day and it was so fun! After a super stressful day [driving all over the bay, sitting in traffic for hours, running late all over the place] I finally dropped Scarlett off at her grandpa's house and made my way to the train to head into San Francisco. I met up with Nick, Megan and Chris to see Godzilla in 3D at the IMAX theater [I missed the first few minutes since I was running so late, but the rest of the movie was super entertaining] and we grabbed coffee and dinner after. We ate at Super Duper and it sure lived up to its name! The floors were even covered with hardware pieces mixed in to the floor! It was super cute.

More date nights please! ♥

a bad case of the blahs...

Yesterday's high temperature was 100 degrees... Today's high is 102.

I'm pretty sure I should be crawling back into bed right about now and staying there until fall - or at least until the end of the day.

But no dice.

Three year olds don't care how you're feeling - you have to play and pay attention and clean up after them and feed them, bathe them, entertain them... All day, every day.

It's exhausting. But at least she's a cute little boss, right?
