"This was considered the single for Pantera's Great Southern Trendkill album, which is my favorite album of all time. It is very low budget but was an important video because there was very little going on in the world of heavy metal in 1996. MTV would never let anything like this be played on any of their channels anymore, so soak it up!"
Today is Thanksgiving and I wanted to take a moment to think of some things I'm thankful for - no matter how big or how small. I know a lot of people have been doing this daily all month, but I'm pretty terrible at committing to daily postings. =]
Here they are - in no particular order:
* Scarlett Grace
* My amazing husband
* Family & Friends
* Rainy days
* Drinking straws
* Cheesy music
* Candy-kins the Cat
* Crazy adorable nieces
* Long walks
* Craft supplies
* Sleeping in
* Staying up late
* DVD marathons
* Butterflies [just as long as they're not touching me!]
We're in full on party prep mode over here. The next few weeks are going to be super busy so I'm trying to get as much done now for Scarlett's second birthday party as possible. I spent the last day and a half glittering "hunny pots" on her invitations.
My kitchen now looks like a disco threw up all over it.
"I'm just gonna say it: this is one of the best music videos of the 1990's. It's creepy yet intriguing, and Lane Staley's eyes rolling back into his head is really cool. I love how heavy and chunky this song is, yet has some great harmonies as well. A+" - Nick love & cupcakes, elissa♥
"One of the many bands that I wish could replicate the "magic" that was created on their most popular album. A very fun (albeit low budget) music video and an unforgettable tune." - Nick love & cupcakes, elissa♥
After dinner frozen yogurt dates with this little peanut are the best...
These past few weeks have been a blur! I love "falling back" but this year I'm all mixed up! Scarlett's nap and bedtime schedule got all screwy and we're just now recovering... But here's what I'm up to currently!
Watching - A ton of Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. Scarlett has recently discovered the classics and can't seem to get enough... I'm slowly but surely getting over my Maleficent phobia.
Anticipating -DISNEYLAND!!! We're finally going! I can't to see Scarlett's face light up as she recognizes so many of the characters!
Listening To - I think it's because of Sleeping Beauty, but I'm really feeling Tchaikovsky lately... It's making me all excited for Christmastime, too!
Working On - Wrapping Christmas and December birthday gifts! The other day I even allowed myself to listen to Christmas music while I wrapped. I feel super bad that Thanksgiving seems to disappear more and more each year but I would be lying if I said that I weren't excited for official Christmas-time.
Wishing - For me to get out of this funk I've been in lately. I need to shake it off and get excited for all the fun stuff that's coming up soon!
I hope your week is going fantastically! What are you up to currently?
love & cupcakes,
These posts are inspired by Danielle's weekly "Currently" posts. Check them out!
We took Scarlett out trick-or-treating for the first time this Halloween and she loved it! It took her a few minutes to get used to the idea that ringing people's doorbells and holding out her plastic pumpkin would result in her getting a ton of candy but once she figured that out - she was all over it!
She was little Thor! And she LOVED all of the pumpkins!
Once she was done with her trick-or-treating, we went home and she helped her daddy pass out candy to the big kids. She loved it! And her candy haul was pretty respectable for her very first year!
I'm all excited for next year! [We already have some costume ideas in the works! Here's a hint -
"YES, Sponge does actually have more songs than "Plowed". What's not to love about this video? It has a friggen roller derby in it! The song is catchy as hell, yet it was not as popular as it should have been." - Nick love & cupcakes, elissa♥
Isabelle chose to go to Nijo Castle for her birthday dinner celebration - also known as "the chopstick place!" We had so much yummy sushi and I brought cupcakes and Isabelle got not one but two happy birthday songs sung to her!
